Monthly Log June 2025: Sports and Father's day

Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the summer break ☀️.

I’m especially excited because my summer vacation is just around the corner. Fingers crossed I’ll have a fun story to share in my next post!

But before that, here’s a quick look back at what happened in June.

Both of my kids had their sports festivals last month. It’s always a joy (and sometimes a bit chaotic) to watch them perform.

My younger daughter took part in some dancing and running events, and I couldn’t help but laugh—every time I pointed my phone to take a picture, she’d get all shy and embarrassed. Strangely enough, this didn’t happen when my wife was behind the camera. Not sure why that is, but it was adorable.

My older daughter also had her events at high school. It was harder to spot her since the viewing area was a bit far away and the crowd was pretty packed. Plus, so many students had similar hairstyles and uniforms that it felt like I was playing “Where’s Waldo?”. I could have lined up early for a better spot… but let’s be honest, I would probably choose staying longer at home rather than standing in the heat šŸ˜…

On another day, I got a cute Father’s Day cake from my family. They designed it to look like my younger daughter sitting on my shoulders—with my face looking slightly tired! It was hilarious and oddly accurate. These little gestures -with the love sign- always make my day :D

I took a day off from work and went on a little weekday date with my wife to Yokohama Bayside. There’s a massive UNIQLO there, along with tons of outlet stores. Surprisingly, it wasn’t crowded at all—especially compared to Gotemba outlets. Maybe it was just because it was a weekday, but even on weekdays, Gotemba always seems packed. Either way, I’m not complaining. I’ll take the peace and quiet any day!

One afternoon while walking home, I came across a car stopped awkwardly in the middle of the street near our house. Turns out it was someone I often see during local neighborhood events. There was already someone else trying to help him, but they said that his car wouldn’t start, and since it was stuck in “P” (park), they couldn’t even push it aside.
I’m sure there’s a way to override that in emergencies, but I understand how panic can make it hard to think clearly. I ended up helping call the police, who came quickly and helped him sort it out. I actually ran into him again last week, and I’m happy to hear everything turned out fine.

So that’s a wrap for June!
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you in my next post—with some fresh summer stories 🌓
